A Roundup Lullaby by Royal Dadmun (1923)

“A Roundup Lullaby (A Cowboy’s Night Song to the Cattle)” was recorded in 1923 by baritone Royal Dadmun. It started as a poem, written by “cowboy poet” Charles Badger Clark of South Dakota and first published in his “Sun and Saddle Leather” collection in 1915. It was set to several tunes, this one by Gertrude Ross in 1922.
