Recorded June 22, 1926, here’s “The Sinking of the Titanic” on an Edison Diamond Disc by Ernest V. Stoneman, credited on the label as the Blue Ridge Mountaineer. Stoneman sings and plays guitar and harmonica. He also recorded the song for OKeh, but the Edison’s longer playing time allows for several more verses and a poignant ending that serves as the perfect conclusion to our six-CD set.
