Today’s reveal: “Chicken Chowder,” recorded early in 1907 by the Ossman-Dudley Trio. Vess Ossman played banjo, Audley Dudley (1879-1916, on the right below) played mandolin, and his older brother George Dudley (1875-1963, on the left below) played harp guitar. Does the trio qualify as the first recorded string-band, or is there another one earlier?
