Is that a yodel we hear? Austrian immigrant Frank Graus and his wife Carrie led several manifestations of its Tyrolean choir for several decades. In 1897, Emile Berliner captured the entire group—quite an engineering challenge for the time and the technology—for his burgeoning Gramophone disc operation.
